Happy Short-day Thursday, everyone! After a long awaited week, the day is finally here where we get to go to the library and check out some amazing new reads! I can not wait. Library day is my favorite. I love being surrounded by books, getting to sit, relax and read, and not have to do any work!! While we are in the library today, we should be looking for a non-fiction book. Quarter 2 Independent Reading Projects are going to require us to read at least one non-fiction book this quarter. I know that non-fiction isn't always our favorite, but the upside is...they tend to be shorter! The amazing thing about getting the opportunity to read all different things is that we get to step out of our comfort zone. Doing this helps us discover things we didn't necessarily know we liked. This is one of those opportunities.
You may not like non-fiction, but this quarter, we're going to embrace something new and try it. And, guess what? If we don't like it this quarter, we don't have to read one again for the rest of the year if we don't want to! So let's get it over with and out of the way now! Last year, this proved to be the student's favorite Independent Reading Project all year! So have some fun with it; you might just be surprised!
